Mike has congratulated Netherton based Venture UK on recent successes in businesses performance and recognition from within the nursery products industry.

Venture UK, who operate from the Washington Centre business park in Netherton, have been designing and selling a range of parenting products since the company was founded back in 2014.

The company was started by Dean Price, who, himself then a new parent, began to have ideas on how conventional nursery products could be improved and made more practical for everyday use.

Since then, the Venture UK team has expanded and the brand has gone on to design popular products such as the DUO Playpen which has sold more than 150,000 units to countries all over Europe.

As Venture UK is proudly based within the constituency, Mike was invited for a tour of the company’s facilities and a chance to meet the team behind the success.

Following the visit, Mike said:

“Venture UK is fantastic business which creates products that parents love – and better yet, they do it from right here in Dudley South.

“And of course, in creating new products that parents want to buy, Venture UK have also created new jobs for local people such as 18-year-old Richard who I had the pleasure of meeting on my visit after he joined the business a few weeks ago.

“Small and medium sized businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy, and therefore it is really great to see innovative businesses such as Venture UK seizing new opportunities and investing in local people.”

Several of the brands’ products have recently been recognised with national awards, including gold status from both the Made for Mums Awards and the Mother and Baby Awards.

With orders looking good for the year ahead, Dean Price is hopeful that the business will soon be advertising further new vacancies – possibly through the Government’s Kickstart Scheme which supports businesses to employ 16-24 year olds.
