Residents and students from across Dudley South have enjoyed an “absolutely brilliant” and “not to miss” tour of Parliament put on by Mike.
The tour, which Mike runs multiple times each year, sees residents given the chance to visit Parliament and walk the corridors of one of the world’s most iconic buildings.
As well as being attended by a number of local residents, students from Kingswinford Academy, Link Academy and Beacon Hill Academy also took part and asked Mike a series of impromptu questions in a Q&A session held in one of Parliament’s famous Committee Rooms.
The tour included a tour of Westminster Hall, St Stephen’s Hall, Central Lobby, time watching debates in both the House of Commons and House of Lords, finished with a visit to the Terrace where residents were able to snap up the unique view across the river Thames towards the London Eye.
“Once again, it was a real pleasure to welcome another coach full of residents and students from Dudley South to Parliament. I always enjoy these tours – giving the people I represent a chance to see the home of our nation’s democracy in action.”
Emma Edwards-Morgan, Headteacher at Link Academy, said:
"Learners from The Link Academy were given a wonderful opportunity to visit The Houses of Parliament. They were given the chance to ask questions and to gain some insight into the world of politics and they were certainly wowed by their surroundings. A very inspirational opportunity provided by Mike Wood MP."
